And that spurred him on to secure the US Open Championship to the delight of his girlfriend Julia Kemmling.

The pair's relationship is very private, with the last picture on Instagram of the two from 2017.
It is unknown whether the couple are married.
However, the couple shared a kiss on the 18th green after Clark won his first major title at the 2023 US Open.
Clark saw off Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy with a one shot victory to take home the $3.6million prize money at the Los Angeles Country Club on June 18, 2023.

After his win he told a press conference that the last five or six weeks has "been a whirlwind".
He added: "It hasn't quite hit me yet."
The champ also spoke movingly of his late mom, Lise Clark: "I know my mom's proud of me. She's always been proud of me, regardless of how I'm doing or what I'm doing.
"I just wish she could be here and we can enjoy this.
"It's been a pretty amazing week cos my mom lived in LA for a few years and I've had some people come up to me and show pictures of my mom when they knew her back in her 20s and early 30s when she was living here.
"And that just happened this week so it was kinda a special vibe all week being here in LA where my parents got married."
He added that he wished she was there so he could give her a hug.
Lise passed away on August 2, 2013, aged just 55, when Wyndham was just 19.

Clark added that he was competitive, and wants to beat everybody - as well as be friends with everybody.
The American has now moved up to 32nd in the world rankings
