SAN FRANCISCO 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk left the NFL world in awe after potentially having the catch of the season on Sunday.
The 25-year-old two-time 49ers receiver sent social media into a frenzy after his "insane" catch propelled the team to a comeback win in the NFC Championship.

Aiyuk made the catch as San Francisco trailed the Detroit Lions 24-10 with six minutes to go in the third quarter.
49ers QB Brock Purdy heaved a pass downfield to Aiyuk, who was streaking up the middle of the field.
However, the pass was overthrown, and Lions cornerback Kindle Vildor had a chance to intercept the ball, but instead, it bounced off his facemask.
The ball bounced up into the air, and Aiyuk didn't give up on the play.

He kept running forward and stretched out to secure the incredible 51-yard completion as Vildor fell and pulled him to the ground.
NFL fans flooded social media with reactions to the catch, with many dubbing the play "insane" and "incredible."
"Best play this game for sure," this fan shared.
"This was INSANE. What a catch," another was in shock.

"Brandon Aiyuk does not get the credit he deserves- a game changer," a third declared.

While some fans believe the play shouldn't have counted and that Aiyuk should have been called for offensive pass interference for pushing the Lion's defender.
"Call the PI on the offense - nope, but call it on the defense or pick it up. Yes- San Fran was getting this yardage either way," this fan sounded off.
"That was offensive PI!" a second said.
"Flagrant OPI, the second time by SF, and it wasn't called," another stated.
Aiyuk would score three plays later after he caught a 6-yard touchdown as San Francisco cut their deficit to seven.
Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs fumbled on the first after getting the ball back, and San Francisco eventually used the momentum to pull away in the second half.
Aiyuk spoke after the game about the catch and gave credit to a ladybug who landed on him before the game.

"Just great luck, God was with us today, great win, bang bang Niner gang," Aiyuk said.
The 49ers defeated the Lions 34-31 and will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
