Per Titans Insider Paul Kuharsky, the team had reached a "breaking point" with Tart over the past week.

The Philadelphia native was reportedly unhappy at his "contract situation."

Kuharsky adds the Titans are moving on from Tart after being "unsatisfied with his effort and attitude".

The 26-year-old had missed practice this week, with the team citing "personal reasons" on the injury report.

Titans (5-8) fans were quick to comment on the development, which comes before Sunday's game against the Houston Texans (7-6).

One fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Best run stopper gone lmao wtf are we doing?"

Another said: "I can understand why this had to happen, but I just hate it because I can absolutely see him tearing it up somewhere else."

While a third added: "He was a great find for this team. Unfortunately it seems he couldn’t control his emotions around not getting his contract extended past a tender. That’s the business, and unfortunately this is part of it. I wish him well. He was good for this team."

Tart was picked up by the Titans three years ago after going unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He was waived during his rookie season, only to return and work his way onto the main roster.

The former Florida International star was offered a one-year contract extension in March 2022.

Per ESPN, Tennesse placed a second-round tender worth $4.3 million on Tart ahead of the 2023 season after he entered the campaign as a free agent.

But there has been tension between Tart and coaches off the field throughout the year.

Defensive line coach Terrell Williams said in October before a game against the Baltimore Ravens: "I don't really want to talk about Teair right now.

"Just because he's injured and I just don't know what the deal is.

"When he's out there he's doing a good job. That's where we are."

Through his four seasons in Tennessee, the 6-foot-2, 305lbs tackle recorded 76 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 1 interception.

Tart will now enter waivers and will be free to sign with another NFL team once cleared.
