Cameron Heyward wants to ‘continue to give back’
Ahead of receiving tonight’s huge prize, Cameron Heyward spoke to Missi Matthews for the Steelers about what winning the Walter Peyton Man of the Year Award would mean to him.
“One, I think it would cement the legacy we have, not only myself, but for the Heyward House and the work we’re doing with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Heyward said.
“But I also think it would allow us to continue to do great work in the community.
“Continue to keep giving back to young men and young women that need a chance to succeed. My goal is to continue to keep giving back.
“I know that Walter Payton Man of the Year Award is nominated for so many guys who are deserving, but I think the real thing about it is the man he was and the legacy he set that I think we’re all just trying to create a legacy and live that out.”
'They have a bright future'
Visibly emotional, Stroud and Anderson dapped each other up three times in a beautiful backstage moment caught by CBS cameras.
And NFL fans joined in the celebrations on social media.
"To think this is only the BEGINNING," one wrote.
"That’s sick. Good for the Texans, they got a bright future," another added.
"Much respect!!" a third said.
"That triple dap is immaculate," one wrote.
Prince Harry's joke heavy speech
The Duke attended last night's ceremony as he dished out the award for 'Man Of The Year'.
Harry joked that Americans "stole rugby from us and made it your own".
He added: "Instead of passing it backwards, just pass it forwards.
"Why not wear pads and a helmet?
"Of course, have an offence and defence - that makes sense.
"And why not have a breather every 15 seconds?
"And you know what? Instead of a 10-month season, let's just make it 18 weeks. Genius.
"All kidding aside, what you guys do on and off the field is truly remarkable.
"You are role models for millions in the way you carry yourselves and the way you give back."
