Shortly after special teams legend Matthew Slater, 38, announced he was retiring from the NFL after sixteen seasons with the Patriots on Tuesday, it was reported that two more veterans were set to leave.

Defensive lineman Lawrence Guy, 33, and safety Adrian Phillips, 31, are both reportedly on their way out, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

A Super Bowl LIII champion, Guy made 110 appearances for New England during his seven seasons in Foxborough.

Throughout that span, he racked up 379 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and 37 quarterback hits.

Former All-Pro Phillips spent the last four years with the Patriots, making 67 appearances and finishing with 284 tackles, sixteen defended passes, and six interceptions.

This comes just a day after the team announced seventeen new additions to Mayo's coaching staff.

Arguably the most recognizable name on the list is three-time Super Bowl champion linebacker, and Patriots legend, Dont'a Hightower.

The 33-year-old will begin his coaching career as their inside linebackers coach.
