Spread the love Luke Schenn (born November 2, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who plays for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League. He was born in Toronto, Ontario (NHL). Schenn was a member of the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League throughout his junior hockey career (WHL).
Schenn was selected to the Second All-Star Team of the Western Hockey League in his last season. He was a highly regarded prospect going into the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, when he was chosen by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round (fifth overall) of the first round (first round). Schenn began his professional hockey career with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2008–09 season, and he remained with the team until he was moved to the Philadelphia Flyers after the 2011–12 season. When Schenn was selected to the NHL’s All-First Team after his rookie season, it was a fitting tribute to his accomplishments.
A gold medal at the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and a silver medal at the 2009 World Ice Hockey Championships have been among his international achievements. Schenn is a defensive player who prefers to remain at home and concentrate on avoiding goals rather than scoring them. Because of his muscular style of play, he is often among the league’s top hit producers. Luke’s Troops, his charitable organisation, assists military families in attending Maple Leafs home games. His younger brother Brayden was chosen by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, but was later traded to the Philadelphia Flyers and is now a member of the Flyers’ roster.
