A NEW docuseries gives viewers an inside look into a new-age cult leader, Mother God, and the devoted followers of Love Has Won, a conspiracy-driven spiritual sect.
Mother God was the name given to Amy Carlson, a McDonald's manager who founded Love Has Won around 2006 after developing an interest in New Age philosophy in the mid-2000s.

Carlson believed she was divine and claimed she experienced paranormal events and soon left her third husband, her children, and her job while also having no contact with most of her family members.
In 2021, Carlson's mummified corpse was found inside a Colorado home after she died of anorexia and alcohol abuse at the age of 45.
A photo of Carlson a few weeks before her death revealed an emaciated appearance with thinning hair and discolored skin.
It was revealed she had ingested large amounts of colloidal silver, a mixture of silver particles suspended in liquid, which she promoted as a cure for Covid-19.

Consuming too much of the drug for a long period of time can lead to blue-gray discoloration of the skin along with seizures and organ failure.
Love Has Won promoted the drug and sold it online, leading to a warning letter from the US Food and Drug Administration.
The three-part HBO series, Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God, opens with body-cam footage of Saguache County police officers arriving at the home with a search warrant before making the grim discovery.
Jason Castillo, Carlson's last partner before her death - known as Father God within the group - told police: "Mother is in rest. She has rested."

Love Has Won adopted several beliefs associated with spiritualism, Abrahamic religions, and QAnon conspiracy theories.
Carlson preached that she was from an ancient land known as Lemuria and was 19 billion years old - the reincarnation of Jesus, Joan of Arc, Marilyn Monroe, and Cleopatra that would lead 144,000 people into a mythical "fifth dimension."
She claimed that Donald Trump was her father in a past life and that she could speak to deceased actor Robin Williams, who said she was Zadkiel an archangel in Jewish and Christian religion.
"She was Joan of Arc, Cleopatra. She's God," a former follower said in the trailer.
Love Has Won had about 20 core members in Colorado, who were dedicated to recruiting more followers through daily livestreams on their YouTube channel.
The group also sold New Age merchandise and took care of Clarson.
However, former members claimed they were starved, forced to stand for long hours, and weren't paid for their work.
"She was always training us, going on live streams every day," said one man in the trailer.
Carlson ran the group with her male partner, of whom she had several - each one referred to as "Father God."
The one thing about Mom is that she was going to attract some of the worst beings on the planet," said one follower.
Carlson acted as a nurturing, motherly figure who birthed all of life, however, former members accused her of brainwashing and abuse.
Videos have come out of her screaming obscenities, holding a cat by its fur, and putting a young child in a closet for having a tantrum.
Carlson weighed just 75 pounds at the time of her death.
Her followers transported her body from California to Colorado, where they built a makeshift shrine that was discovered by police on April 28, 2021.
Carlson was wrapped in a sleeping bag decorated with Christmas lights.
Her eyes were rotted away and the empty sockets were filled with glitter.
Police arrested seven of her followers, charging them with abuse of a corpse along with child abuse charges after a 13-year-old and two-year-old were found in the home.

The charges were all later dropped and Love Has Won continues to attract followers even without Carlson at the helm.
Love Has Won: The Cult Of Mother premieres on November 13 with the second and third episodes airing on November 20 and November 27.
