Adventure Starts with Weather at CBS2
This ‘Idaho Adventure’ takes you high up to the mountain top to a hidden lake along the Long Valley.
Blue Lake is roughly 7,000 feet up it's an absolute gem in the Boise National Forest. It’s located southwest of Cascade the Blue Lake Trail offers stunning panoramic views of the Long Valley below.
The roughly one-mile hike is a bit steep on the way down but is rated easy to moderate hiking on the Boise National Forest Website.
Along the hiking trail, you'll find lots of areas for photos as wildflowers in the area are in full bloom. The Boise National Forest Website also says you'll descend about 550 feet along the trail to the lake below.
Blue Lake has a campsite along the southern end and many areas to swim and fish.
If you can’t make the hike soon, you should have plenty of time to visit the lake as the mountain road is typically open through mid-November.
