In her video, TikTok user Megan (@gardeningsimplified) explained: "As a gardener of 26 years now I have tried and tested so many products that claim to be natural for repelling deer and rabbits.

"I live behind a national park so wildlife is abundant," the gardening fanatic added.

Megan recommended avoiding commercial repellants as she said: "These products only have a small percentage of the active ingredients that actually repel these animals."

The content creator revealed to her audience that this secret ingredient is eggs.

She explained that deer and rabbits don't like the sulfur odors that come from eggs.

Megan went on to show her followers the DIY solution she uses to repel the animals from her garden.

After locating a large bucket, which she filled with water, the influencer broke down the ingredient measurements.

"For every gallon of water you’re going to want at least a cup of milk," Megan said.

She also recommended cracking at least one egg into your mixture before giving it "a good stir."

Finally, the content creator said: "Now you’re going to want to add at least a tablespoon of garlic powder for every gallon of water and cayenne pepper."

She explained: "Deer don’t like these two, neither do rabbits, it messes with their senses."

Megan advised viewers to avoid adding the solution directly onto their plants.

Instead, she recommended pouring it into old coffee cans and placing them around your garden.

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their own pest-repelling hacks.

"My same recipe, it definitely works. I had deer eating my flowers but sprayed it on them," wrote one viewer.

Another follower said: "I sprinkle cayenne pepper and mist peppermint oil/water on my plants. Deer gone!"

"Cinnamon! I sprinkle it all over whatever they would eat and they leave it alone! It also smells good!" commented a third person.
