Upon arriving on the scene, first responders encountered a strong gas smell coming from the residence, which stopped their ability to enter the home.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Melissa Soliz confirmed that once the home was safe to enter, first responders discovered the bodies of five family members - two adults and three children.
The five victims all showed obvious signs of trauma, however, police do not believe any suspects are on the loose.
Police did not release the names or ages of the victims pending the next of kin notifications.

“This scene is a complete tragedy behind us,” said Sgt. Soliz.
“Not only is this devastating to the first responders that had to respond and witness what’s inside, but this neighborhood is very close-knit, including the extended loved ones and family members that are related to this home and this residence.”
Aerial footage from ABC 15 shows a propane tank in a large taped-off area of the home, which authorities are probing as part of their investigation.
Southwest Gas, the region’s gas supplier, confirmed to the outlet that gas service at the home was shut off at 12pm, but they found no natural leaks at the residence or in the area.

"Southwest Gas crews have thoroughly inspected all natural gas infrastructure from the meter on the property to the street and surrounding area for gas leaks. No leaks were found," the company told ABC 15.
Sgt. Soliz said investigators are still not ruling the deaths a murder-suicide, despite saying they're not looking into any victims.
Spooked neighbors told ABC 15 they were "shaken up" after hearing about the multiple deaths.
