In the final moments of Tuesday’s episode, Dex found himself with a gun pointed right at him.
Viewers learned Michael is trying to kill Sonny [Maurice Benard], and the mobster demands Dex tell him who's been betraying him, but Dex refuses to give up a name.
As Sonny lifted his gun and told Dex he gave the wrong answer, the episode ended.
Just beforehand, though, Carly learned Sonny went after Dex, and she tried to call him to tell him he had the wrong person, but he didn't answer.

Carly begged Brick to tell her where Sonny took Dex, but fans won't find out until the next episode whether or not she's able to make it to him in time.
General Hospital fans rushed to share their concerns for Dex's safety on social media and begged for him not to die.
“Dex you're dumb,” one annoyed fan tweeted. “I would’ve been screaming Michael's name so loud everyone in Port Charles and Nixon Falls would’ve heard me.”
“Why would Dex die for Michael,” a second viewer wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Dex is stupid ... putting his life at risk for Michael,” a third angry online user insisted.
“Does Michael really deserve this type of loyalty from Dex?” another wondered, before insisting Michal would squeal if he had to.”
Who is Avery Pohl and did she leave General Hospital?Online, viewers continued to beg Dex to save his own life and simply tell Sonny the truth.
One confused fan tried to wrap their head around the situation, writing, “Wait, Dex is willing to die to protect Sonny from finding out it’s Michael who’s hired him?”
“Why, so they won’t hate each other,” the user added. "He won’t off Michael. Dex is basically protecting no one from nothing except disappointment.”
General Hospital fans are extra on edge about possible cast departures as there have been quite a few changes recently.
Last month, viewers slammed how Nicholas Alexander Chavez's character Spencer Cassadine was written off the show.
The character was seemingly killed off to allow his portrayer, Nicholas, to film his Netflix series, Monsters: The Menendez Brothers.
Toward the end of General Hospital's January 31st episode, Spencer saved his girlfriend, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), from being attacked by his treacherous ex Esme (Avery Pohl), who lured them on a boat.
In the end, both Esme and Spencer ended up going overboard.
"They’ve had months to plan Spencer’s exit and this is what they decided on?," one upset fan tweeted at the time.
While Nicholas is set to return as Spencer, Avery's exit – and the death of her character, Esme – has been confirmed.

Another cast change comes in the form of a beloved character returning.
Steve Burton, who was fired in 2021 over a disagreement on the network's Covid-19 mandate, announced he's coming back next month as Jason Morgan.
