Drivers heartbroken as sedan once driven by US president quietly discontinued after almost 20 years

AUTO lovers have been expressing sadness as a popular car that a former president drove is discontinued.

After nearly 20 years, Chrysler is discontinuing the large 300 sedan after making its final model this year.

For the 2023 Chrysler 300, the carmaker introduced the limited-edition 300C that comes with a Hemi 6.4-liter V8 engine.

That being said, only 2,000 units of the 300C were built for the U.S., according to auto news outlet Cars Direct.

The line of Chrysler 300s lasted 18 years and was even driven by multiple notable public figures.

Stars that drove the model include rapper Snoop Dogg and President Barack ObamaAutomotive News reported.

Chrysler announced their move towards creating EV cars instead of traditional gas vehicles. 

The auto company unveiled a new electric vehicle concept at the New York Auto Show last year, called the Airflow EV.

Chrysler’s CEO, Christine Feuell, revealed that a new model would be available in two years, according to Auto Week.

"What we intend to launch in 2025 is certainly inspired by the Airflow, but not the Airflow in its exact form," Feuell said.

The car will be aimed a young middle-class families. 

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on the news. 

"They done discontinued the Impala, the charger, and the challenger," a user said in a tweet with a sad face emoji.

"If they discontinue the Chrysler 300 what will black men have left to drive?"
