The NFL has shared video footage of the halftime competition on its X account, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday.

In the clip, a cowboy hat-wearing crew could be seen getting sheep to run on the field with kids grasping onto their backs.

A couple of the young participants fell off the trotting animals after about five yards.

Luckily, the children sported protective helmets during the bizarre contest.

But it divided NFL fans as one asked: "This ain’t dangerous af?"

And another ranted: "This is disgusting and backward. Denver should be so embarrassed."

However, others enjoyed the odd show with one saying it provided more entertainment than any New England Patriots game during the 2023 NFL season.

"What just happened," another asked, adding laughing emojis.

"I wasn’t ready for this one..." a third said.

Russell Wilson and his Broncos ended up beating Cleveland to extend their winning streak to five games and improve to 6-5.

Meanwhile, the New England Patriots dipped to 2-9 on the season after losing 10-7 to the New York Giants.

New England left MetLife Stadium defeated after failing to hit a 35-yard field goal that would tie the game with just seconds left on the clock.

Under-fire head coach Bill Belichick benched quarterback Mac Jones mid-game again after he threw two interceptions in the first half.

Asked about the QB situation, the Patriots coach stormed out of the postgame interview.
