Messing’s messing around!
Debra Messing got a little too handsy with Mariska Hargitay Wednesday night — but the Law & Order veteran didn’t seem to mind! The longtime friends goofed off and were all smiles for a ladies’ night at the Joyful Revolution Gala’s red carpet in NYC on May 6.
The Mysteries of Laura actress was full of energy as she took prom-esque photos and selfies with Hargitay. But at one point (perhaps some jealously kicked in!), she interrupted Hargitay’s conversation with Ali Wentworth by grabbing her booty.
Hargitay, 51, and Messing, 46, were fans of each other’s work long before they became BFFs. In 2011, the two opened up about their friendship while Messing guest starred on Dick Wolf’s long-standing smash Law & Order. “We fell in love from a distance about five years ago and just had this mad girl crush on each other and became good friends,” Hargitay said in a joint NBC interview. “Then our sons became very close friends.”

At the Joyful Revolution Gala Messing also told Us Weekly that the pair live “right down the street from each other.” In addition, she’s been supporting Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation, which raises awareness of sexual assault and domestic violence, for years.
“Mariska Hargitay is my best girlfriend and she has created a life-changing foundation. Every year we come together and we get to celebrate the inroads that they have made in the past year and expand the conversation,” the Will & Grace alum told Us. “It’s just incredible.”
