When Houston police arrived at the home, the couple's eldest daughter met them outside and told them what happened.
Authorities entered the home and found both parents dead in the upstairs bedroom.
Houston police believe the 43-year-old husband shot his wife, 34, multiple times before turning the gun on himself.
The identity of the couple has not been disclosed.

The couple's three daughters, who cops said are 6, 9, and 14 years old, were found unharmed.
"We do have family members on scene, who they'll probably be released to for the evening until something more permanent is available," Houston Police Department Lieutenant J.P. Horelica said.
Horelica said a weapon, which is believed to have been used in the killings, was recovered at the scene.
The lieutenant said investigators are still trying to piece together what led to the shooting.

CHRISTMAS EVE NIGHTCLUB SHOOTING
Meanwhile, in southeast Houston, police are investigating a Christmas Eve shooting at the Nawlins After Dark nightclub, which left one dead and several others injured.
Houston police believe a fight broke out inside or outside the club, which led to shots fired.
"It's going to be multiple individuals armed with weapons," Houston police Assistant Chief Megan Howard said.
"Do not have specifics in terms of how many were armed with weapons, but obviously, it does appear that there were at least two with a back-and-forth.
"Some of the stray rounds did cross the street and hit an area nearby businesses."
Investigators believe the shooters got away in a 2015 blue Toyota Tundra.
