PLANS of a birthday party for Alex Murdaugh's murdered son have been revealed by the author of a book covering the infamous case.
Murdaugh, a disbarred South Carolina attorney, was found guilty of the June 2021 murders of his wife, Maggie, and his youngest son Paul in March.

Since the 64-year-old was convicted and given two life sentences for his crimes, several additional details emerged — although none likely as strange as a birthday party mentioned in a new book on the case.
Tangled Vines: Power, Privilege, and the Murdaugh Family Murders by author John Glatt was released on Tuesday and detailed plans Murdaugh allegedly made behind prison bars for a faux 23rd birthday celebration for Paul.
Glatt noted it in the book as one of several efforts that Murdaugh made to try and convince the public he wasn't responsible for the deaths of his wife and son.
The birthday party supposedly happened in April 2022, about 10 months after the shooting at the hunting cabin in Colleton County.

The April 2022 celebration seemingly occurred while Murdaugh was jailed for other crimes but had yet to be charged with Paul's death.
Murdaugh allegedly gave his surviving eldest son Buster a list of specific people to invite to Paul's birthday.
Glatt claimed that the information about the birthday party was given to him through an anonymous fellow journalist that filed a Freedom of Information request at the Alvin S Glen Detention Center in Richland County, the jail Murdaugh was held last year, per Court TV.
Additionally, Glatt gathered the evidence from the around 200 calls Murdaugh made when he was arrested for the first time that was released.

In the book, Glatt wrote that on April 14, 2022, Paul's actual birthday, Murdaugh allegedly made a call to Buster to discuss celebration details.
Buster then reassured his dad on the call that the party, which was to be held at a Charleston Harbor bar, would be a large gathering, and news of the party was spreading online, according to Glatt.
"I think you'll be happy to know that a bunch of those boys down in Charleston are all going tonight. It's kind of like a commemorative thing," Buster said on the call, as detailed in the book, per Daily Mail.
Murdaugh responded: "I appreciate you doing that very much. Did you get all of them that were on that list?"
Buster also reassured his father that "people have been posting stuff on social media all day. So, everybody knows."
The author also noted Murdaugh stressed that his eldest son left flowers in his name by Maggie's grave on Mother's Day.
Another alleged call was made later by Murdaugh to confirm with Buster's aunt that the flowers were left.
Glatt pointed to these acts as clear examples of the convicted murderer attempting to cover up his actions.
As The U.S. Sun previously reported, Murdaugh also suffered a massive legal blow in court on Tuesday in the case of the death of the family's former housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield.
He initially said that Satterfield died in a trip-and-fall accident involving the family’s dogs at their Colleton County estate.
The Satterfield family later sued the disbarred attorney in September 2021, saying that he stole insurance money owed to them after their mother died.
Murdaugh agreed to a $4.3million judgment last year after admitting to wrongdoing in the Satterfield case.
In May, he confessed that he “invented” the story about the dogs to get a $3.8million settlement from Nautilus Insurance Company.
He additionally argued in a motion that the $4.3million judgment awarded to the Satterfields should be vacated since the original insurance payout was based on lies he told.
On Tuesday, a judge denied the motion to take back the $4.3million confession of judgment and awarded the sum to the housekeeper’s family as a result of the death, per local ABC affiliate WISTV.
Murdaugh has no chance of parole on the two life sentences he is serving and remains behind bars at the maximum security McCormick Correctional Institution in South Carolina.
