As explorer Leland Kent discovered for his series, Abandoned Southeast, a large home was hidden and abandoned on seven-acres of forested land.

“The place sits deep in the woods of rural Georgia,” the explorer told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“According to property records, the home dates to the early 20th century, although it appears it could be much older."

According to a calendar posted in the kitchen, the last time occupants were in the property was 2008 - though there were hints from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and even early 1990s.

An abandoned TV from the 1950s was perched in one of the bedrooms, shag carpet was strewn throughout the bedrooms, and empty coke bottles from the 1960s were scattered in the kitchen, for example.

The best part of the seven-acre time capsule, though, was outside.

Part of that land included a vast collection of collectible American classic cars, like Packers, Cadillacs, and Buicks of a bygone era.

One of the cars discovered by Kent was a 1947 Buick Roadmaster, which was considered a premium model over the automaker's Super 8 sedan of the time.

Due to its dilapidated nature, though, it would prove a challenge to restore, as a result of the extreme amounts of rust from being exposed to the elements for however many decades.

According to Love Property, who featured the abandoned property, the Roadmaster was a top-tier vehicle targeted to soldiers returning from the war, and they quickly picked up.

Buick sold nearly 19,000 units in 1946, proving that after having fought a tough war, there were a large number of those who sought comfort and luxury from their vehicle.

Another Buick Roadmaster laid abandoned on the property, from 1949 - which was a popular model for Buick as the post-war economy grew and grew, with more than 400,000 units sold.

Coming in from 1958 was a dusty and moldy Cadillac Coupe DeVille, sitting next to a newer model from 1962, which made it interesting for Kent to see the differences between styling of the different eras.

Nestled in with the Cadillacs was a Packard Patrician 400 from 1952, which is a particularly rare find, especially for car collectors.

Only 3,975 models were ever made from that model year, and stood as the second rarest car in the entire collection.

The rarest abandoned vehicle, pinned underneath a collapsed part of the garage that was a victim of rot, was a 1939 Buick Limited.

Only 1,451 units of the Limited were ever produced, making it an ideal restoration - especially if it happens to be the six-passenger variant.

For that version, only 348 were produced for that model year.

Kent was unable to find out who the current land owners were and what the plans were for the property, or if any of the cars were eligible for restoration.
